Day 4 – San Francisco – Carmel Beach /2h15

You have to stop by Silicon Valley in the morning and drive by the giants (Google, Facebook, Apple). I mean aren’t you still impressed by all these companies ??? Well Well… I am !

Once done… or not !: Set your GPS to Carmel Beach, CA and make sure you will take the itinerary by the Road 1. You can be there in 1 hour with the highway but clearly no point.

You’ll pass by beautiful landscapes and beaches. Stop when you can, take some pictures, walk on the sand and back on the road again.

Park your car around Ocean Street and Lincoln St and walk on Ocean St … You’ll find cute little shops, bakeries, decoration accessories. If you go around mid August, you will see beautiful collectors cars thanks to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. On a separate note, make sure to book your hotel a long time in advance because it is always very crowded.

By walking all the way down of Ocean Street, you’ll end up on the white sand of Carmel. Don’t forget to grab a little sandwich before, best part is to eat it on the sand 🙂

Once your day completed, here are some little suggestions of restaurants and hotels:

Dametra Restaurant (Really packed !)

Fan of Cheese ? Make a stop at the Carmel Cheese Shop

Casanova Restaurant (Never tried but supposed to be very good and cute :-))

Sleeping Time !

“My money is not a problem when I think of my night !”: $$$ Bernardus Lodge And Spa or Carmel Valley Ranch

“Just a hotel nothing fancy nothing cheap” : $$ : Monterey Bay Inn Hotel

“A bed that’s it !” : The Stevenson Hotel

Day 5: Carmel Beach – Los Angeles / 5-6h

I have to tell you that this is a another long drive: about 5-6 hours but the road is still beautiful and you will enjoy each minutes. Why ? because you’re driving along one of the most beautiful road ! The Road 1. Make a stop close San Obispo in the Cayucos village and have a slice at this place in front of the Ocean ! How cool is that ? Eating a slice of pizza in front of the Ocean ? Anyways! Thought it’s amazing.

Hit the road back and you can make another quick stop in Santa Barbara for a few hours or even a night if you have the time. Walk along State Street and watch the sunset on the Santa Barbara Pier.

Ice cream place not to miss in Santa Barbara: Mc Connell’s

I hope you will enjoy your trip ! Feel free to share any tips with the community !

Cheers to all !
